New Vinyl!

Just received my copy of End of a Year's You Are Beneath Me. I was asleep and heard the doorbell ring. As I stumbled out of bed to go answer the door, I wondered who would have been ringing the door at this unholy hour of the morning. As soon as I saw the postal man, it felt like Christmas morning.

Seeing as how the lyrics to this album are almost non-existent on the net, I figured I'd copy and paste them for whoever is interested in reading them.

Charles Ewert

My fourth grade teacher told me, "The road to hell is paved with good intentions."
I'm inclined to agree, but there's one aspect she never mentioned:
When you cheat on the girls in your life, man, that shit comes right back and it bites you.
My tenth grade teacher told me, "Only pick the fights you know you can win."
A coward heart from the start, I took his advice and it's how I've chosen to live.
When you cheat on the girls in your life, man, that shit comes right back and it bites you
I'm entitled to good things, so give, give, give.
Teeth applied to neck, body shakes as I go stiff.
When you wear your cleats to bed, man, expect soiled sheets in the AM.

Mistletoe, tattooed to the crown of my skull. Welcome home, chapped lips.
Slapshot taught, "Might makes right," but that must be a lesson I had missed.
Can I put my thumb down your throat? Please, spit into my mouth.
Don't look to the door, dear. It's cold out there, I fear, with report of a wintery mix.
And here's the twist: I torched your coat.
Kept my eyelid ajar and finally saw, what I now know best:
My body in motion most resents yours at rest.
Can I put my thumb down your throat? Please, spit into my mouth.
Don't look to the door, dear. It's cold out there, I fear, with report of a wintery mix.
And here's the twist: I torched your coat.
Grandpa died on far-off frontlines, but that's not the end for me.
I much prefer warmth and the night to take its course, with your mouth around my tongue.
Mistletoe, tattooed to the crown of my skull. Hello, chapped lips.
Slapshot taught, "Might makes right," but that must be a lesson I had missed.

Caught a Mets' game but left my hat on the subway.
Caught a foul ball but left my wallet on the seat.
Caught a cab home but left without paying, so I caught a beating.
The day's a wash, now repeat.
You said you want, "The exciting life." Say hey, news alert, it's not with that guy.

Security! Security! Your motives become clear to me.
There's no shame in the stroller walk...provided, that's what you want.
So woman, thrill me.
Caught a Mets' game but left my hat on the subway.
Caught a foul ball but left my wallet on the seat.
Caught a cab home but left without paying, so I caught a beating.
The day's a wash, now repeat.

To hold what I found myself to close to grip.
Lesser concerns! Lesser concerns! I can almost put my tongue to it!
Problems on problems, they form a garrote.
Now here's how you solve them: Put your knee in my back, let your hands to the saving.
What I wouldn't give for a billion smaller problems.

Eric Hall

Give me a call when your marriage dissolves.
Dial my phone when the family stalls.
Reach out for me when you've nothing at all.
I'll be reaching right back with razor-sharp claws. Some things you can't plan.
Now attached to your head. Brought along my drill bit.
A small hole placed in your skin; brains spill across your desk. Some things you can't plan.
Lips abutting your heels. Honestly honored to be here, in the presences of my fear: Woman carrying life shared.

Jeni Leigh

Bedsprings cut my knees. Shoulder blades, they dig deep.
Legs are numb, but still I want. I arch to hear you breathe.
The licked hand. The licked hand. Shaken child in my clothes to big for him.
Unsolicited opinion: I don't like the men you're with.
A reoccuring idea: White sands with no end; a sunny day with no wind. You firmly planted in my hands.
Christ, oh Christ, reveal the secret of your device to me.
If I pinned myself to planks would I receive attention now denied to me?
The licked had. The licked hand. Shaken child in clothes to big for him.
Unsolicited opinion: I don't like the men you're with.
A bug crawled up to my ribcage. I left the farm and made my way.
Lone pigeon to migrate, to the thought that killed my brain.
Christ, oh Christ, reveal the secret of your device to me.
If I pinned myself to planks would I receive attention now denied to me?
The licked had. The licked hand. Shaken child in clothes to big for him.
Unsolicited opinion: I don't like the men you're with.
The licked had. The licked hand.Tongue pressed to thumb pad.
The licked hand. The licked hand. I'm lost under your bed.

Bo Diaz

My deepest sympathies extend, to those who don't know where he is.
Both feet in water. Both hands on breasts. Both eyes on lips. Brain set to forget.
And then.
My consistent request, to those who might save me from this.
Both feet in quickrete. Both drums rupture. Both lungs burst, from what you put me under.
And then.
My gracious bequest: Brain to keelhaul of ship.
Both lobes don't mind. Both lobes don't mind. Both lobes don't mind leaving skull behind.
And then again.

Eddie Antar

So you wonder what men want? Well, here's a heads-up: Everything and then some. And more. And more.
I'll take what I can before they slap the cuffs on.
A pine tree fell through my window and I stood there while the wind blew cold rain against my bed.
I chose not to wake you.
It's my own tower in Dubai, but it's burning at all times.
It's cash-on-demand, but the money ignites when it touches my hands.
Oh, what it is to broke. What it means to have no money.
So you wander what men want? Well, here's a heads-up: Everything and then some. And more. And more.
I'll take what I can before they slap the cuffs on.
Pine Hills Market, left a mess by students' vomit. I wore my Rush shirt and got in a fight, right on the sidewalk.
It's my own tower in Dubai, but it's burning at all times.
It's cash-on-demand, but the money ignites when it touches my hands.
Insurance fire!
So you wonder what men want? Well, here's a heads-up: Everything and then some. And more. And more.
I'll take what I can before they slam the cell door.
A pine fell through my window and I stood there while the wind blew cold rain against my bed.
I chose not to wake you.

Philip Jose Farmer

Greasy hand up my skirt, while the other raids my purse; friend, you've proven quite the flirt.
Lips part and offer teeth just like a wolf's. My reply, "No thank you, I'm good."
Is there any good idea lame assholes won't steal? Not that I've seen.
Is there a single thing the frauds won't strip clean? No, not that I've seen.
Oil lamp provides light for the camp, but does it scare away the fauna?
Are wild beasts ever put to pasture, or is it always-constant struggle?
Is there a single thing the frauds won't strip clean? No, not that I've seen.
You thought you'd impress me. Well, you did. I've rarely seen such greed.
It's a nest full of a million mouths that are always ready to feed.
You wish you could hold my brain, but I regret to convey
Your arms wouldn't reach around my balls.
